How to make a great trailer of our video game ?

This week was personally a very very tough week and so it was very hard to have enough time to work properly. Nevertheless, I tried to do my best and reach the goal of this week, made a trailer with Godot.

I'm so disapointed all problems came this week because we had a great teacher and the subject interresting me highly. The first 3 days we detailed all camera movements and analysed many trailers from cinema to video games. And we also learned how to use 2 applications for creating trailers: Blender and DaVinci Resolve.

Trailer

Before Christmas, I made a trailer for my game. But with a little analysis, i realized i made many mistakes on it.

This week we have to make a trailer of a game with Blender. Blender is very powerful but hard to handle. I choose Super Mario Odyssey to make a great trailer. I did it and I'm pleased with it.

It almost looks like a real trailer of Nintendo and one student thought I only copied the real one. In fact, I didn't watch the Nintendo trailer and choose my music on the entire score of the game... almost a hundred music ! I used 6 or 7 videos of the game to create mine. And in all these videos, there was trailers.

Rapidly I found the rythm of my trailer. In the first part, Mario discover the world like he was in holidays, he only walk or run but never jump, he also have a nap, play with a rope or even dance. Suddenly, Bowser attack him and beat him... it's the introduction of the second part... Mario use his hat to transform, and jump, jump, jump. There is many cut scenes related like a big jump in the air in a scene and arrive on the floor on another scene. I also use the music to change scenes or when the singer say jump, Mario jumps, or when she say hat, Mario's hat is used in the scene.

In conclusion, I can say I love to play with videos from so many years. It was a so very interesting week... but it was also very chaotic for me to stay concentrated... what a pity !!!
